I would love to come introduce my corner of the quilting world to your quilt guild. Please have whomever is in charge to write to me for availability.

It has been brought to the attention of the Kansas City Star that there are a couple errors in the "A Little Porch Time" book. These corrections have been posted on the telegraph page under "Pattern Corrections" - they are also on the Kansas City Star website: http://www.pickledish.com If you have any questions, please write to me. The KC Star and I apologize for these errors.

NEW PATTERNS! - My goal this year is to bring you some fun patterns. Here's what I've been asked to do by you.

Many of you have asked me to make a DOLL (A Primitive Yougins Doll) to go along with the Primitive Youngins book. So I am working on that.

Many of you have also asked for more quilts the size of those in the Primitive Youngins book. So, there are plans to make more quilts with some fun names to go along with the others. These smaller quilts make great gifts, super table toppers for a special brunch! and, of course can be completed much quicker! These will be introduced as patterns not a second book at this time. Watch for them this spring.

Many of you have asked for more wool projects. I love working with wool and fabric together so more plans are in the works for those projects.

The Door Hanger project introduced to you this past fall...."Something to Crow About" has been a huge hit. There are plans to make additional door hangers. Running out of room to showcase your projects?......using the doors really is a fun way to utilize extra space.

MAGAZINE PROJECTS - Watch for a project coming out in the American Patchwork and Quilting magazine. It's a small pieced fabric with wool applique project which is very fun to make.

A NEWPrimitive Magazine is coming out in April. It's called Primitive Quilts & Projects. Iam very excited to be a part of this new venture. You can order your subscription by going to their website: http://www.primitivequiltsandprojects.com I know this is going to be an exciting magazine and you won't want to miss one single copy. I've signed up for all of them...I hope I can keep up!!!

NEW VOLUNTEER PROJECT I've asked for volunteers to help me with a project. Deadline to sign up is January 15th. Normally I would be asking you to help with a new Quilts for a Cause, Inc. project. However, this year they asked me to design a quilt, which they could package and sell. Carol Crago and I worked on a quilt for them. It will be coming out soon and as soon as I get the information as to where and when you can purchase it I will let you know. I am excited that they accepted my design. All proceeds goes to breast cancer research. SO, the new project for the Back Door Friends is to help American Patchwork and Quilting on their mission to have 1 million pillow cases made and distributed to the charity of your choice. You can read all about this on my blog...... http://www.primitivepiecesbylynda.blogspot.com I hope you will join me. All the details are their website. There is a button on the left hand side of my blog and/or facebook to get you to the place to download your choice of pillowcases. Please let me know by January 15th if you will be joining in this project. If you have any questions, please write to me.

HELP PLEASE It has become very difficult to continue to keep everone informed and continue to do what I love best, creating new patterns. So, I'm going to ask you for your help. Starting this year, the news will be posted here on the gazette page per usual every other month. I will not be sending out email newsletters because - email addresses change and I receive tons of them back as being undeliverable. ANY, news that happens over and above this will be posted on my blog. On the home page of my website you will also see a facebook connection. If I post something on my blog, it goes directly to my facebook page, which in turn you can see on the home page of my website. (lol trust me, I don't know how this all happened, but it has!)

Before I leave, I want to say a special "THANK YOU" to all of you that continue to follow what I do. Come visit as often as you like because I'll always leave the light on for you. Until next time, Hugs, Lynda

01/28/11-The Pattern picture you see at the top of the page, Twist 'n Shout, is a new pattern! It was designed by me for Quilt for a Cause, Inc. They are selling this pattern and the proceeds go to women's cancer. I hope you will help support this cause by purchasing this pattern from them. Please write to info@quiltforacause.org for information on how to order the pattern. Thanks so much!
