Box lunch socials were very popular when my Mom was growin' up. Young women would pack a very special lunch and take it to a social event. Young men would bid on that boxed lunch, in hopes of spending time with that young woman - under strict adult supervision of course! So here's a very special page to have our own social event. Another Primitive Pieces by Lynda "Block Party" for Breast/Ovarian Cancer.

Two years ago, my pattern club + friends dedicated some time to make quilt blocks that were designed by me, pieced together by lots of you, then sewn together with love and donated to Quilts For a Cause, Inc. The 3 quilts that were made brought a good amount of money to go for research for women's cancers. You can see the last project from start to finish by clicking on a link on the telegraph page. I am excited to say another "block party" will be underway very soon. If you would like to join us, please email me before the end of May. Below you can see the block everyone will be making...it's easy and scrappy and lots of fun to make.

This is the block everyone will be making for this special "block party" for cancer. The quilt blocks will be put together on point, as you see here. Everyone that signs up will receive an information packet in the mail.

Everyone's block that is returned to me will be photographed and posted as before.

The first block to be completed and sent in is from Jeanne Wortham, Melbourne, Fla. Jeanne and Carol Crago worked together to be testers for this block. I think Carol cut the fabric and Jeanne sewed it all together. Thanks to both of you for helping me out.



Donna Phillips of Orlando,Florida (my sister in law) made this block for our party! She was another tester of the block. Thanks Donna!



Alice Shaw from California sent me these 3 lovely blocks for our special project. Thanks Alice for returning for the second time!
