PRIMITIVE PIECES BY LYNDA NEWS, VOL.4, July/August 2008

SUMMER IS HERE!

Summer isn't my favorite time of year here in Florida, but after 56 years perhaps I sound like a broken record when I say it's VERY HOT here!

Spring market has come and gone and Moda did an excellent job of showcasing my new patterns. Snow Trails, Peter Paul and Aunt Mary and Goose Down are now in the second printing and doing very well. A Big Thank you to Moda/United Notions!

NOTES FROM LYNDA

I just returned from Primitives of the Midwest in Lee's Summit Missouri. I had a wonderful time with all the gals that took my three classes and I think everyone had a great time. Watch for new patterns coming your way from these projects. We made a sewing box with a pin cushion on top, a small wall hanging called "Two Pair" and the color class was a project to help everyone remember what we talked about. There were give aways in each class. I hope some day you can join us as well.

. Remember, starter kits for any of the patterns are available, but only if you write to me personally. It is just to time consuming to precut them to list them on the website

The Pattern Club drawings will be on the following dates this year: March 15, June 15 and September 15.....No December drawing this year. CONGRATULATIONS to GAIL CRITES for being the June 15th winner. You have from June 16th until September 14th to order patterns and get in the next drawing on September 15th.... Good Luck!

Be sure to check out the Box Lunch Social page to see all the blocks that everyone is making for this year's auction. I am so excited that we've gone from being only 25 people two years ago to 88 this year. The blocks coming in are lovely and I can't wait to see all the blocks together. If you didn't get a chance to sign up this time, please keep us in mind in 2011.

TRUNK SHOWS

If you are a shop owner with no samples made up for your shop, please contact me to set up a trunk show. GOOD WIVES CO. has all the new quilts in their shop now until the middle of July...I hope you get by to take a look see.

RETREATS

Some of you have asked if I travel to different areas to do lectures and/or trunk shows....the answer is yes. Have your guild contact me for information.

NEW PICTURES

One of my favorite things is when you send me pictures to share on the website. It seems everyone has been busy! There are 16 pages now to browse through.

Please be sure to update your email listing if you change your address. And, if you wish to be removed from the email list, please send me an email requesting to be removed. I am constantly getting email returned because of full mail boxes. I am sorry you don't get your news updates. I will try to make sure that this gazette page is always up to date with what I send out for that reason.

You know I love it when you visit the web site. Please share it with all your friends as well. I also know each of you are busy, but I trust you will enjoy the process of quilting and not just the end result. After all, that's the fun part!

Please be safe and come back and visit often. I'll always leave the light on for you. Until next time...... Lynda
