PRIMITIVE PIECES BY LYNDA NEWS

VOL.06 - November/December 2010

THANKSGIVING is my very favorite food holiday of the year. I can't think of anything better than gathering with family over a big meal, counting the many blessings we have. I hope you enjoyed your day as much as I did. p align"left">WELCOME to everyone that has signed up to be on the email and/or pattern club lists in the past couple of months.. It's always so exciting to meet new people that love primitives. Welcome to my little corner of the prim world.

I can't believe that I am once again wishing all of you a MERRY CHRISTMAS. I do know the older I get the faster the days go. This has been an incredible year. I have had so much fun working on the patterns that have been introduced this year; going to spring market in Minneapolis; being part of the American Patchwork & Quilting Creative Circle; having several projects in the American Patchwork & Quilting magazines; teaching at one of my favorite places, Quilter's Station in Lee's Summit, Missouri and making lots of new friends this year. I feel very blessed that I am able to do what I do with Primitive Pieces and that I have so many people that follow my work. I thank each and every one of you.

My husband, Curt (aka Pa) is so supportive of my creative endeavors and has been for almost 42 years. It's because he believes in me that I am able to have fun with my work.

I am so very grateful for the opportunity to work with the Kansas City Star this year. My first booklet, My Yesteryear Collection, was self published, my first book - Primitive Youngins, was also self published - and this second book "A Little Porch Time" was published by the Star. I am overwhelmed by the wonderful response both the quilt shops and you have given this endeavor. Thank you so very much.

The new year will bring more great fun. I will be teaching in various places this coming year. I will post the dates in the January newsletter.

I'm excited about working on projects for the new "Prim Magazine" coming out in April. I will also post more about that as the time draws near.

PATTERN CLUB MEMBERSIf you are a pattern club member, please send me your birth date. There will be a new program just for you, but I need to know your birth date before you can get in on it.

There will have to be some changes coming up in the new year. Trying to keep up with the website, the blog and facebook has kept me at my computer more than in the sewing room. I want to be the place where you all come to have fun and to see new patterns. There is only one of me and I find I'm spread out just a little thinner than I feel comfortable being. I hope some of the changes coming will be ones you enjoy as well. Watch closely to the gazette news to see what's coming your way.
