PRIMITIVE PIECES BY LYNDA NEWS

VOL.02 - March/Apri 2011

Oh, how the time just flies by these days...It's hard to believe spring is here and the school year will be almost over soon!

The spring here in Florida is short lived, but it's been very pretty this year. We've started feeding the birds and have had flocks of Robins visit for a spell before heading home and then came the gold finches. They are so tiny and so much fun to watch. I've had a devil of a time keeping the feeders filled and the bird baths full with so many birds around. Pa's got a full time job just trying to outsmart the squirrels! We have wren and titmouse eggs in nests at the present time and I've seen more cardinals this year.

NEW SPRING QUILTS are in the works. I hope to have pictures to share very soon. You will be able to see them on the Keeping Room Page when they are all back from the quilters. There will be 3 new patterns for you.

As promised, there will be some new patterns revolving around the primitive youngins book. Many of you have asked if I would make a doll to go along with the quilt in the book....so now it's coming your way. If you don't have your book, you might want to order it now before the new patterns arrive. There will be ONE pattern, but 2 quilts and a doll you can make. It hasn't been named as of yet.

There will be one more pattern that revolves around the book - no name yet either

There is a pattern called "The Painted Lady" which is something I've never done before. For those of you that like watercolor quilts, this pattern is a more primitive style of that.

The new Prim Magazine "Primitive Quilts and Projects is due to arrive in April. I can hardly wait. I have a nowman project in the magazine so I hope you'll subscribe to get yours in the mail. I have my second project almost ready to send in to them. I will have 4 projects in their magazine this year so be sure to get your copies.

If you haven't signed up for my blog and/or facebook, please do so. Although you can see all the news here, to get up to the minute goings on be sure to sign up there.

New photo's of projects made by others are now on the parlor room pages...please take a look at what everyone is making.

A very special THANK YOU to Cypress Creek Quilt Guild and the Brandon Quilt Guild for inviting me to speak at their meetings and teaching a class at the Cypress Creek guild. I had the best time seeing old friends and meeting new ones. I hope to see all of them again soon.

I will be traveling to Primitives of the Midwest in June - hope to see you there. And, I will be going to Arkansas in November to speak at their league and teach a class. Please join me if you are in the area.
